Cormorant Garamond is a classic font with a modern twist. It's easy to read on screens of every shape and size, and perfect for long blocks of text.
The Feminist Therapy Network is looking for a course tutor to teach an introductory course on Black Feminism and Womanism: therapeutic perspectives. The course will take place online via Zoom so international applicants are welcome to apply.
The course will introduce participants to the rich herstories of Black indigenous healing practices that challenge individualist perspectives on ‘mental health’ in favour of community-oriented care, considering the relationship of self-actualization to collective struggle and self-recovery to political resistance. The tutor will be knowledgeable on Black feminist discourses on intersectionality, womanism and transnationalism and able to engage key Black feminist and womanist thinkers with contemporary therapeutic concerns in and beyond the UK. The course will draw on feminist pedagogies that support and cultivate collective learnings, inquiries and imaginings.
The course tutor will choose and create the specific content and structure for the course, although ongoing dialogue, support and access to online resources will be available.
£60.00 per hour for 20 hours (ratio 12 hours teaching, 8 hours course preparation) on a self employed basis.
To express interest, please email: feministtherapynetwork@protonmail.com, detailing your 1) relationship to Black feminist and womanist theorizing and praxis 2) teaching experience and 3) feminist pedagogy. Also, if it is helpful to have an informal chat, please send an email to arrange.
